COMPACT PYROSENSORS
Free inquiry fromInstitute of Physics, National Academy of Sciences of UkraineDescription
MPV device isintended for detection of thermal radiation in the spectral range 0.5...45 mmand can be used in a variety of optical instruments: spectrometers (especiallyin the Fourier spectrometers), radiometers, IR thermometers, spacespectroradiometers, gas analysers, pyrometric safe-guard systems.
Sensor element ofthe MPV device is fabricated in the form of a plane plate made of apyroelectric material. Electrodes are deposited in vacuum on both sides ofthe plate.
Irradiation of theplate increases its temperature and reduces spontaneous polarization.Variations of the plate temperature, caused by absorption of the radiation, manifest itself in the form of variations of the capacitance charge, which canbe measured.
